As I have for the other verse novels I’ve read I felt like the poetry in Make Lemonade led to lack of complexity in characterization and material closer to a short story than a “novel”. LaVaughn thinks that it is a crazy idea, but helps Jolly write the letter. I would recommend this book to people who are currently in unfortunate positions.

There was one part of Make Euwdr that really cuaght make lemonade by virginia euwer wolff eye. Nov 16, Sara rated it it was amazing. LaVaughn’s first person voice is poignantly like that of other young women I’ve known as they grew up, and makes me mist over a little bit.
